A 63-day-long series of commemorative events began in Warsaw on August 1 to mark 75 years since poorly equipped Polish fighters took up arms against their country’s Nazi German invaders in a heroic act of resistance during World War II.
Other Polish cities have also paid homage to the courageous insurgents.
