Officials are on Wednesday expected to announce details of how the country plans to lift more of its COVID-19 containment measures, according to government spokesman Piotr Müller.

“Tomorrow morning, Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki will outline the schedule for the next stage of lifting coronavirus restrictions,” Müller said on Twitter on Tuesday.

Poland’s Health Minister Łukasz Szumowski told reporters a day earlier that the government was likely to roll back the requirement for people to wear face masks outdoors as part of the fourth phase of easing virus curbs.

He indicated that the requirement could be kept in place in three provinces with the largest number of infections.

The government is also expected to give the go-ahead for weddings attended by up to 50 guests to be held with new safety protocols in place.

A total of 22,074 people have tested positive for the COVID-19 disease in Poland, with 1,024 deaths from the coronavirus so far, officials said on Tuesday evening.
