Of the new cases confirmed on Friday, 2,761 were in the densely populated southern coal-mining region of Silesia.
Meanwhile, 2,345 new infections were reported in the central region of Mazowieckie, which includes the national capital Warsaw.
The western province of Wielkopolskie, which is home to the major city of Poznań, had the third-highest number of new infections confirmed by officials on Friday, at 1,949.
The latest deaths in Poland’s coronavirus outbreak are 419 people with pre-existing medical conditions and 176 who died directly because of COVID-19, the Polish health ministry said.
On Thursday, Poland confirmed 682 deaths and 21,130 new coronavirus infections nationwide, compared with 803 deaths and 21,283 fresh cases a day earlier.
On April 8, the country reported its highest daily toll of 954 deaths related to the coronavirus.
On April 1, the Polish health ministry confirmed 35,251 new single-day cases, the most since the pandemic hit the country more than a year ago.
Poland's first case of coronavirus infection was reported on March 4, 2020.
32,781 in hospitals, 348,056 quarantined
The health ministry announced on Friday morning that 32,781 COVID-19 patients were in hospitals nationwide, 3,425 of them on ventilators, with a further 348,056 people quarantined for possible coronavirus exposure.
Meanwhile, 2,255,232 people have now recovered from COVID-19 throughout the country, including 16,594 over the last 24 hours, the health ministry also said.
