The government commissioner for the national vaccination programme, Michał Dworczyk, was quoted by the paper as saying that the number of registrations for COVID-19 vaccines was declining, with less than 1 million shots given out last week.
Poland’s largest vaccination point, at a temporary hospital set up at Warsaw’s National Stadium, has reported a significant drop in the daily number of inoculations, according to Rzeczpospolita.
The hospital’s head, Artur Zaczyński, told the paper that around 2,000 people were being vaccinated every day during the summer holidays, down from 6,500 to 7,000 on average in June.
Poland’s Health Minister Adam Niedzielski was quoted by the daily as saying that the government was considering introducing restrictions for those without a valid COVID-19 vaccination certificate.
He also said that the fourth wave of the pandemic could hit Poland as early as mid-August, Rzeczpospolita reported.
