The new flight to the largest city in the United Arab Emirates takes nearly six hours, and now operates three times a week.

The new destination is related to the upcoming Expo 2020 world fair in Dubai, which is set to open on October 1, and will be available only until the end of the Expo in March 2022.

The Dubai Expo, which is this year held after a year's delay due to COVID-19, is expected to feature exhibitions by 192 countries and attract more than 20 million international visitors over six months.

Some 2,500 Polish firms are preparing to showcase their wares during the event in the United Arab Emirates, with business promotion expected to run on a par with efforts to promote national culture.

Over the past few years, Dubai has also become one of the most popular exotic winter travel destinations for Poles. Before the pandemic, in 2019 alone, almost 100,000 passengers travelled there from Poland. With a population of 3 million, Dubai is the world’s 4th most visited tourist city after Bangkok, London and Paris.

Polish state-owned airline LOT also announced that due to the easing of pandemic restrictions in the United States, the Polish carrier has scheduled flights to New York, Chicago and Miami, among other destinations, starting December 10.
