The ceremony at the presidential palace in Warsaw is due to take place at 5 p.m.

"On October 26, at 5 p.m., President Andrzej Duda will make changes to the composition of the Cabinet," his office announced on Monday, as Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki is set to reshuffle his team of ministers.

Conservative lawmaker Kamil Bortniczuk was earlier this month named as the Polish prime minister’s pick for his new sports minister.

Poland's conservative leader, Jarosław Kaczyński, said at the time that the sports ministry would be "separated" from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.

Culture Minister Piotr Gliński has been doubling as sports minister since October last year.

Bortniczuk is a lawmaker with the Republican Party, led by conservative Eurodeputy Adam BielanHe was formerly a member of Jarosław Gowin’s Agreement party, which left the government in the summer.

The government’s spokesman, Piotr Müller, told public broadcaster Polish Radio earlier this month that the changes to Morawiecki's Cabinet would be “cosmetic” and involve "a few" fresh faces.
