Poland's Tomasz Siemoniak and Germany's Alexander Dobrindt will hold a joint press conference to discuss the border situation, including the temporary controls Poland has introduced on its borders with Lithuania and Germany.

The idea for the visit appeared last Friday - when Minister Tomasz Siemoniak was in Bavaria at German Interior Ministry's conference on illegal migration. On the occasion Alexander Dobrindt praised Poland for introducing controls and effective enforcement measures.

Polish authorities introduced temporary border controls on the borders with Germany and Lithuania on July 7. The Border Guard is conducting random inspections at 65 border crossings. So far, over 227,000 people and 106,000 vehicles have been checked.
