In December, the Polish president’s chief of staff said that the visit was under preparation.
Polityka Insight says the date has not yet been confirmed.
The last visit by a French president to Poland was in 2013. François Hollande planned to make another visit in 2016 but called it off after the Polish government abandoned plans to purchase French-designed Caracal helicopters for the Polish army.
In 2017, during the peak of the migration crisis, Emmanuel Macron, who that year replaced Hollande as president, criticised Poland for its stance on the migration issue.
Most recently, he has voiced criticism regarding Poland’s stand on counteracting climate change.
