Top diplomats discuss tighter regional links

The foreign ministers of Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Hungary on Friday discussed working more closely together in international bodies.

The top diplomats, who met in the central Polish city of Łódź, also discussed stepped-up collaboration on new technologies.

The four countries together form a regional cooperation platform known as the Visegrad Group, or V4.

Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said that close cooperation between the regional neighbours could ensure a "quick restart" for their economies following the hit they took from the COVID-19 pandemic.
