In a morning interview with RMF FM, Korneluk stressed that “the decision rests solely with the prosecutor conducting the proceedings,” after reporters asked whether Nawrocki’s past association with Patryk M. could lead to him being called to testify.
Patryk M., an MMA personality known from Poland’s “freak-fight” scene, was extradited from Germany this week after his asylum request was rejected.
He was brought to the Lublin branch of the National Prosecutor’s Office, where he was charged with participating in an organised crime group involved in drug trafficking, as well as with theft.
"Wielki Bu" denied the allegations and refused to give testimony. Prosecutors have requested that he remain in pre-trial detention until 4 February 2026. If convicted, he faces up to 15 years in prison.
Patryk M. confronts multiple drug-trafficking and fraud charges
Polish Justice Minister Walemar Żurek announced on Friday that the National Public Prosecutor’s Office had formally charged Patryk M. with participating in a criminal organisation involved in drug trafficking and other offences.
The group operated in northern Poland, as well as in the Netherlands and Spain, between 2017 and 2018.
Patryk M. is accused of trafficking 17 kg of marijuana (€181,000) and 2 kg of amphetamines (€13,000), and of burglary and fraud involving an Audi Q7 (€12,800) and its subsequent sale (€8,700), allegedly as part of organised criminal activity.
He has denied the charges and refused to comment. Patryk M. was initially arrested in Hamburg on 12 September 2025 under a European Arrest Warrant and extradited to Poland on 6 November 2025.
The case has drawn political attention because Patryk M. previously posted photos on social media with Nawrocki - then head of Poland’s Institute of National Remembrance - which later became a point of criticism during the presidential campaign.
Karol Nawrocki has said the two met years ago at a boxing gym and that he had no knowledge of any criminal activity.
