Investment and Development Minister Jerzy Kwieciński was speaking after meeting US Commerce Secretary Wilbur Ross in Washington on Monday.

Kwieciński told reporters that the Americans were impressed by Poland’s 5 percent economic growth although the US economy itself was expanding fast as well.

Poland is “one of the fastest growing economies in the world," Kwieciński said in an interview with public broadcaster Polish Radio on the first day of his five-day visit to the United States.

He said his talks with Ross focused on bilateral trade, which at the moment stands at USD 15 billion annually, accounting for 2.8 percent of Poland’s total trade, “but is growing all the time."

Poland's exports to the United States increased by 28 percent in 2017 and rose by 19 percent last year, according to Kwieciński.

He also told Polish Radio that US investment in Poland was growing every year, strengthening America's role as the second-largest foreign investor in Poland after Germany.

Kwieciński said that one of the main topics of his talks with Ross was the Three Seas Initiative of 12 European countries between the Baltic, Black and Adriatic Seas, a drive that aims to result in new roads, railways, bridges and air connections.
