Mateusz Morawiecki took to Twitter after Poland’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) said in a flash estimate on Wednesday that the country’s GDP grew 4.4 percent in the second quarter of this year.

"According to the preliminary estimate, Poland’s GDP expanded by 4.4 percent in the second quarter, placing us far ahead of eurozone economies and well above the EU average," Morawiecki said.

He added: “Our results rank Poland among European and global leaders in terms of economic growth.”

Polish GDP grew 4.7 percent in the first quarter of this year and expanded by 5.1 percent in 2018 as a whole, according to the Central Statistical Office.

Poland’s largest bank, PKO BP, estimated this month that the Polish economy would grow 4.6 percent in 2019, exceeding many predictions.
