LOT has announced that the first flight from Kraków to New York’s JFK Airport will take off on Saturday, May 2, 2020. The route will be operated by Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft.

LOT CEO Rafał Milczarski said: “We are certain that Kraków, a jewel of Poland as well as a very significant economic centre, will attract many businessmen and tourists from across the Atlantic.”

Meanwhile, the number of flights from Kraków to the midwestern US city of Chicago will rise from three to five a week, beginning in June 2020.

Earlier this year, American Airlines announced they would launch a Kraków-Chicago route starting in May 2020.

Kraków Airport is the second busiest airport in Poland, with flights to more than 130 destinations. In 2018, almost 7 million passengers used the airport, while this year numbers are expected to reach 8 million.
