Ukrainians most often work in Polish industry, said the report by the Personnel Service job agency.

Krzysztof Inglot, the agency’s CEO, said that 700,000 new jobs are created in Poland every year and demand for employees is huge.

Meanwhile, unemployment in this country is at a historic low and there are not enough Polish workers to fill the positions available.

Inglot said last month, however, that recruiting Ukrainian employees is becoming more difficult as other European countries, such as Germany and the Czech Republic, are tempting them with better salaries.

Joblessness in Poland was a modest 3.3 percent in September, the third-lowest rate in the 28-nation European Union, the bloc’s statistics agency has reported.

Poland’s labour ministry, which uses a different methodology, said that the Polish jobless rate held steady at a record low of 5.1 percent in October, unchanged from September.

Around 1.3 million Ukrainian citizens work in Poland, the Gazeta Wyborcza daily reported earlier this year.

Poland welcomed the largest number of temporary economic migrants in the world in 2017, the Rzeczpospolita daily reported in September, citing data from the OECD.
