Poland competing for Ukrainian workers

Almost one in five companies in Poland employ Ukrainian workers, but recruiting them is becoming more difficult as other European countries, such as Germany and the Czech Republic, offer better salaries.

These are some of the conclusions of a report on labour migrants to this country in the second half of 2019 by the Personnel Service job agency.

According to the agency, 700,000 new jobs are created in Poland every year and demand for employees is huge - especially given the fact that unemployment in this country is at a historic low and there are not enough Polish workers to fill the positions available.

Danuta Isler spoke to Arkadiusz Pączka of the Employers of Poland Organisation.
