Executives from Polish and French companies as well as government officials and members of business organisations from the two countries attended the 1st Polish-French “Industry of the Future” Forum in the Polish capital on Monday, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
It said participants praised business and commercial ties between the two countries, saying they were expanding, and noted that France was the fourth-largest foreign investor in Poland.
Polish Development Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz told those at the event that trade between her country and France was growing every year.
During the conference, officials signed declarations pledging that Poland and France would work together for cleaner air and promote what is known as the circular economy.
The event was held to accompany a two-day visit to Poland by French President Emmanuel Macron.
France’s Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said the next such forum would be held in his country next year.
Poland's Emilewicz was quoted as saying last year that government experts were working on a strategy to transform Poland into a low-carbon economy over the next several decades.
