The study, by the Personnel Service job agency, said that in the first quarter of this year, employees from Ukraine worked in 35 percent of large companies in Poland, in 12 percent of mid-sized firms, and in 10 percent of small businesses.

Meanwhile, the vast majority of Polish employers - 89 percent - have a positive or neutral attitude towards Ukrainian staff. Only 2 percent of entrepreneurs said they had a negative attitude, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

After the coronavirus pandemic broke out, many Ukrainian workers in Poland returned home. For the first time in several years, companies in Poland seeking temporary employees are turning to home-grown talent instead of Ukrainian staff, IAR added.

A report by the Personnel Service agency late last year found that almost one in five companies in Poland employed Ukrainian workers.
