Around 135,800 housing units were completed nationwide between the start of January and the end of August, the office said on Monday.

It added, however, that the number of housing starts from January to August, at around 141,100, was 10 percent lower than in the same period last year.

Meanwhile, overall output in Poland’s construction-and-assembly sector fell by 12.1 percent in August in year-on-year terms, while decreasing by 3.5 percent month on month, the state-run statistics agency also reported.

Amid the coronavirus crisis, the Polish economy contracted 8.2 percent in the second quarter of this year, after expanding by 2 percent in the first quarter, the Central Statistical Office reported last month.
