The deal is with Danish company Ørsted Salg & Service and provides for the supply of around 6.4 billion cubic meters of gas between 2023 and 2028, PGNiG said in a statement on Wednesday.

The deal comes as work is under way to build an undersea gas pipeline from Denmark to Poland.

The new link, known as the Baltic Pipe, is scheduled for completion by October 1, 2022. It is expected to connect the Polish and Danish gas transmission systems and enable Poland to access North Sea gas from Norway amid efforts to diversify supplies.
