The Chinese Civil Aviation Authority, which imposed the ban, said that ten COVID-19 cases were detected on an October 15 flight from Warsaw to Tianjin in northern China.

The Chinese aviation authority announced that the suspension will apply to the Polish carrier from November 2-30.

Polish news outlet Onet reported that none of the infected passengers displayed any symptoms of COVID-19.

The Polish air carrier is among several airlines whose flights have been suspended by China. Similar bans were imposed on Turkish Airlines, Saudi Arabian Airlines, and Iran’s Mahan Air.

In Poland, a total of 280,229 people have tested positive for the coronavirus since the pandemic began, and 4,615 have died in connection with the COVID-19 respiratory disease so far.

The virus, which originated in Wuhan, central China, has killed around 1 million people and infected more than 43 million around the world.
