The US tech giant is expected to invest some USD 2 billion in the new cloud computing hub, which it launched in the Polish capital on Wednesday.
The project, the first of its kind in Central and Eastern Europe, is expected to make Poland's economy more digital, according to officials.
"Excited that we're launching a new Google Cloud region in Poland,” Pichai said in a tweet.
He added: “Thank you PM Mateusz Morawiecki for your partnership - look forward to helping unleash new opportunities for people in Poland and around the world."
During a remote conversation with the Polish prime minister, Pichai praised the skills of Polish IT engineers.
Morawiecki, meanwhile, said that "Poland is a perfect place for all kinds of investments, especially in the field of technology."
He also told Pichai that a growing number of Polish businesspeople were interested in embracing digitization and that this type of investment was "the future of the economy."
The Polish prime minister in 2019 told an international innovation conference that his country wanted to hold on to homegrown talent while working with cutting-edge companies such as Google.

Software giant Microsoft last year announced it would invest USD 1 billion in digital technology in Poland.
