Polish MEPs want country's recovery plan approved ASAP

During a dedicated session in the European Parliament on Wednesday, Polish MEPs called on the EU to clear their country’s post-pandemic recovery plan as soon as possible.

“The Polish people are waiting for this money," said Andrzej Halicki, a European lawmaker from Poland’s main opposition party, the Civic Platform (PO).

He added: "It is necessary for the Polish economy and, mind you, this is not money for the government. Therefore we want it to be channeled to the end beneficiaries as soon as possible, including businesses and local governments."

The European Commission has declared a willingness to approve the multi-billion-euro plan for Poland.
