The state-run statistics agency in late August reported that the Polish economy expanded 11.1 percent in the second quarter of 2021, after contracting 0.9 percent in the first quarter amid the COVID-19 disruption.

Poland’s president last week approved the country's revisebudget for this year, which expects the economy to grow 4.9 percent in 2021 as a whole, after a 2.7 percent contraction last year.

International ratings agency S&P Global in late September upgraded its forecast for Poland's GDP growth this year to 5.1 percent, from a previous projection of 4.5 percent.
