Polish students form 'shadow' rate-setting panel: audio report

After yet another interest rate hike earlier this month, some borrowers in Poland are having a hard time paying their loan instalments.

The body responsible for the raises, the Monetary Policy Council, appears to be making its decisions on the basis of a mixture of political and economic considerations.

Meanwhile, a parallel "shadow" rate-setting panel formed by students at the Warsaw School of Economics (SGH) votes on interest rates solely based on economic criteria.
