The reading was lower than forecast by analysts, who had expected an increase of 1.9 percent, Poland’s PAP news agency reported.
In month-on-month terms, Polish industrial production in October was 4.1 percent higher than in September, the Statistics Poland (GUS) agency said.
Meanwhile, the country's seasonally-adjusted industrial production fell by 0.8 percent in year-on-year terms in October, while decreasing 0.1 percent month on month, the state-run statistics office reported.
According to the European Union’s Eurostat statistics agency, which uses a different methodology, seasonally-adjusted industrial production decreased by 0.9 percent in Poland in September.
