Already last year municipal services were noting increasing reports on praying mantises in the streets of the capital, informs Gazeta Wyborcza daily.
This is the result of climate warming, it writes, citing entomologists, who say that mantises are being seen even further north, in Olsztyn, Białystok and Suwałki, as well as in other areas of the country.
Mantises are a protected species in Poland.
