Poland played a major role in the process, coming up in 1978 with a proposal for a provisional model of the Convention and then sending the UN a draft of the document.

However, even though the Convention is the most ratified international text in the world today, and one that has helped transform children’s lives, many of their rights still strive to be respected both in Poland and elsewhere.

The Polish National Committee for UNICEF has issued a special report on the rights of the child “from the children’s, parents’ and teachers’ perspectives.”

Michał Owczarek talked to the agency’s spokeswoman Monika Kacprzak to find out more.
