E-sports enthusiasts flock to Poland's Katowice

The 8th edition of the Intel Extreme Masters starts in the southern Polish city of Katowice on Friday. It is set to draw thousands of onsite and millions of online e-sport enthusiasts.

in 2013, the event attracted 50,000 fans over two days, while in 2019 over 174,000 flocked to what is now a five-day event.

A record 232 million viewers watched the event via digital platforms in 21 different languages, and this year is looking even more promising, Adrian Kostrzębski, spokesperson for ESL (Electronic Sports League) Polska, told Danuta Isler.
