Education Minister Dariusz Piontkowski said Polish Radio and state broadcaster Polish Television were providing teachers and students with "a large number of popular science and educational programmes that can help with remote learning."

The government on Wednesday announced that schools, universities, nurseries, cinemas, theatres and museums would be closed as Poland stepped up efforts to contain the new SARS-CoV-2 virus.

A day earlier, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that large public gatherings were being banned across the country.

Coronavirus infections in Poland rose to 64 as 13 new cases were confirmed on Friday.
