Women doctors, nurses and lab workers are among those who will receive coupons for treatment after the end of the epidemic, public broadcaster Polish Radio reported.
The initiative, called “Beauty for Heroines,” sprung up in the north-eastern city of Olsztyn and then spread across the country, Polish Radio added.
The efforts of healthcare staff working long hours in difficult conditions to help COVID-19 patients have been highlighted in Polish media in recent weeks.
A total of 10,511 people have tested positive for the COVID-19 disease in Poland, with 454 deaths from the coronavirus so far, officials said on Thursday afternoon.
