Stricter controls, higher fines as COVID-19 infections spike in Poland

Wednesday saw the highest number of COVID-19 victims in Poland since June 30. Eighteen people died and 640 new cases were recorded, the health ministry said.

With the recent spike in new cases, the authorities are considering reintroducing restrictions in certain regions of the country, as well as higher fines for those not observing sanitary regulations.
