Co-organised with the Copernicus Science Centre, the event is Europe’s biggest open-air celebration of science, Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Water: the life-giving liquid

This year’s 25th edition of the picnic is set to explore the wonder of water. Scientists will help the audience solve many mysteries related to the life-supporting liquid, from whether fish can swim in honey, to the internal life of icebergs.

The focus on water "will make our listeners aware of its importance, its essence, how priceless it is," said Polish Radio's CEO Agnieszka Kamińska.

11am to 8pm at the Copernicus Science Centre

Back in the in-person format after a pandemic-related hiatus, the free-to-attend event runs from 11am at the Copernicus Science Centre, which is situated next to Warsaw’s Vistula Boulevards.

Meanwhile, Polish Radio’s channels and website polskieradio.pl will be providing coverage of the Science Picnic throughout Saturday, reporting on the rich array of workshops, experiments and discussions, executives said.
