The match will be held in Tampa, Florida, on October 12, Poland’s onet.pl news service reported.

According to organisers, Poland’s Jędrzejczyk, “the longest reigning champion in strawweight history,” is “chasing after another belt,” and hopes that a win over Waterson “will earn her a crack at the title.”

Jędrzejczyk, 31, was champion from March 2015 to November 2017, when she lost her Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) strawweight title in a bout against Rose Namajunas of the United States.

The Pole in April last year failed to recapture her strawweight belt in a rematch with Namajunas.

The Jędrzejczyk vs. Waterson bout during an event called UFC Fight Night 161 is scheduled for five rounds.
