Women’s volleyball: Poland eye final four of European championships

Poland were on Wednesday set to take on Germany for a place in the final four of the Women's European Volleyball Championship.

Their quarterfinal match was scheduled to begin at 8:30 p.m. in the central Polish city of Łódź.

The Polish team on Sunday beat Spain 3-0 in the tournament’s round of 16.

The 2019 Women's European Volleyball Championship is being held in Poland, Hungary, Slovakia and Turkey from August 23 to September 8.

The semifinals and the gold and bronze medal matches will be played in the Turkish capital Ankara at the weekend.
