Sam Kendricks of the United States took the gold and defended his title on Tuesday, while the silver went to Sweden’s Armand Duplantis, both with a clearance of 5.97 metres.

Poland’s Lisek cleared 5.87 m to win his third world outdoor track-and-field championship medal, after a bronze in 2015 and a silver in 2017.

Lisek’s third-place finish on Tuesday marked the second medal for Poland in Doha after Joanna Fiodorow took the silver in the women’s hammer throw three days earlier.
