Poland beat Russia in Volleyball World Cup

Poland have beaten Russia 3-1 in their sixth match of the men's volleyball World Cup in Japan.

The victory in the Japanese city of Hiroshima on Wednesday was the Poles’ fifth win in the tournament.

The Poles, who are managed by Belgian coach Vital Heynen, next take on Egypt on Thursday.

With 15 points, Poland are in second place overall in the tournament. Brazil lead the pack with 18 points.  

Poland, one of the world's strongest teams, have won all their matches so far in the FIVB Volleyball Men's World Cup except for a 1-3 defeat to the United States on Friday.
