Football: Poland to take on Slovenia in last Euro 2020 qualifier

Poland’s national football team is on Tuesday set to take on Slovenia in Warsaw in its final Euro 2020 qualifier.

The match is due to kick off at 8:45 p.m. at the National Stadium in the Polish capital.

The Poles, captained by star striker Robert Lewandowski, have already sealed a spot in next year’s European championships.

After nine rounds of fixtures, Poland are on top of their qualifying group G, with 22 points, three more than Austria, who have also qualified.

Poland defeated Israel 2-1 in their next-to-last Euro 2020 qualifier in Jerusalem on Saturday, with goals from Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak and Milan striker Krzysztof Piątek.

Moanes Dabour scored for Israel in the dying minutes of the game.

The Euro 2020 tournament will be held from June 12 to July 12, 2020 in 12 cities around Europe.

Poland in 2016 made it through to the quarterfinals of the European championships in France, losing to Portugal on penalties.
