The event was won by Poland’s Kajetan Kajetanowicz, the favourite, for the seventh time in a row.
The three-time European champion, who was behind the wheel of a Ford Fiesta WRC, said he would probably donate his Barbórka trophy to charity.
Onlookers who came to Karowa Street in downtown Warsaw were able to savour the smell of burning rubber and watch controlled slides which sent fans’ pulses racing.
Fans were also able to take in souped-up 1980s-vintage cars in action, as well as an electric, emission-free vehicle boasting over 600 horsepower and euphoria-inducing acceleration, private broadcaster TVN reported.
The Barbórka Rally, which was held for the 57th time, concluded the motorsport season in Poland.
