Tokyo 2020: Meet Team Poland’s youngest and oldest Olympians

There is a 37-year age difference between the youngest and oldest Polish athletes who are gearing up to compete in the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, according to a report.

The oldest member of the Polish team is archer Sławomir Napłoszek, who is 52, while the youngest is swimmer Laura Bernat, who will turn 16 in September.

Napłoszek made his Olympic debut in 1992 in Barcelona, 13 years before Bernat was born.

Meanwhile, the oldest Polish female athlete preparing to compete in Tokyo is Karolina Nadolska, a long-distance runner who will celebrate her 40th birthday in September.

Krzysztof Chmielewski, a 17-year-old swimmer, will be the youngest Polish male competitor at the Tokyo 2020 Games, Poland’s PAP news agency reported on the eve of the world’s biggest sporting event.
