The Poles, who are reigning world champions, defeated Belgium 3-0 in their penultimate group-stage match on Monday.

The Polish team beat Portugal 3-1 in their opening game at the tournament last Thursday and followed up with a 3-2 win against Serbia two days later and a 3-1 victory over Greece on Sunday.

The Polish team will now take on Ukraine in its final group-stage match in Kraków, southern Poland, on Wednesday evening.

Poland is jointly hosting the 2021 EuroVolley championships, which are also being held in the Czech Republic, Estonia and Finland from September 1 to 19.

The Polish team, under Belgian coach Vital Heynen, reached the quarterfinals of the volleyball tournament at this summer's Tokyo Olympics, where it was knocked out by eventual gold medal winners France.
