The display, entitled The Pantheon of Sports: The Most Beautiful Moments Etched in the Memory of Polish Fans, is on view at the houses of parliament until Friday, before it moves to the headquarters of the Polish Olympic Committee (PKOl) and other venues next month, state news agency PAP reported.

The show was opened on Wednesday by Anna Krupka, a secretary of state at the Polish Ministry of Sport and Tourism.

Konopacka, Kusociński, Szewińska

Krupka told her audience: “It is a big honour for me to take part in the opening of this exhibition, which showcases the most outstanding Polish athletes."

These include discus thrower Halina Konopacka, who was Poland's first Olympic champion, long-distance runner Janusz Kusociński, and sprinter Irena Szewińska.

Małysz, Kowalczyk, Korzeniowski

Krupka added that the display offered “a cross-section of Polish sporting heroes,” documenting “the most important moments, etched in the memory of Polish fans," following the successes of iconic athletes such as ski jumper Adam Małysz, cross-country skier Justyna Kowalczyk and racewalker Robert Korzeniowski.

Gollob, Świątek, Kulej

Also featured is Poland’s 1976 Olympic gold-winning men’s volleyball team, speedway world champions Tomasz Gollob and Bartosz Zmarzlik, as well as Poland’s tennis world number one Iga Świątek.

Moreover, the exhibition pays tribute to successful athletes who went on to become members of parliament, including World Cup bronze medal-winning goalkeeper Jan Tomaszewski, European championship-winning volleyball player Małgorzata Niemczyk and two-time Olympic champion boxer Jerzy Kulej.

“This exhibition is a source of inspiration,” Krupka said, thanking the photographers for their work.

Following a three-day run in the parliament building, the exhibition will be shown at the Polish Olympic Committee headquarters, the Ministry of Sport and Tourism, and dozen or so schools around the country, according to officials.
