In addition to Chopin’s Allegro de concert in A major, with Polish-born American pianist Konrad Binienda as the soloist, the programme of the concert includes three symphonic poems by composer Mieczysław Karłowicz: Stanisław and Anna Oświecim, A Sorrowful Tale, and Episode at a Masquerade.

This year marks the 110th anniversary of Karłowicz’s death.

The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra is conducted by Grzegorz Nowak, who is its Permanent Associate Conductor.

Nowak also serves as Music Director of the National Opera in Warsaw.

A live recording of the concert will be released on a CD.
