The festival, now in its 13th year, offers a review of movies from South and Southeast Asia which are selected from those which are currently most popular in the Far East and generally unavailable in Poland.
Five Flavours is divided into seven sections. New Asian Cinema, the main competition, is set to present 11 daring, socially-involved movies competing for the festival’s top award, the Grand Prix.
The event is accompanied by debates and workshops as well as meetings with some of the filmmakers.
Screenings will be held in Kino Muranów, which is one of the oldest arthouse cinemas in the capital, as well as at the Kinoteka cinema, located in Warsaw’s Palace of Culture and Science.
The Five Flavours Asian Film Festival runs until November 20.
