Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s Polish Film Festival Down Under is a virtual-only experience, with screenings available to audiences across the nation.
The festival celebrates the achievements of many influential Polish filmmakers, while also offering movies by inspiring up-and-coming directors, screenwriters and producers, according to organizers.
The event features a host of recent offerings from directors including Władysław Pasikowski (The Messenger), Janusz Majewski (Black Mercedes), Dariusz Gajewski (The Legions) and Mariusz Gawryś (Servants of War).
Also on the festival schedule are comedies such as Na układy nie ma rady (Playing Dirty) and Szczęście świata (Happiness of the World) as well as films for children and documentaries, according to the Warsaw-based Polish Film Institute (PISF).

Many of the films slated for screening between January 23 and 31 were nominated for international awards in recent years and have struck a chord with a diverse group of fans, organizers say.
