Corpus Christi will be competing in the best foreign film category. Also vying for the award in that category are Thomas Vinterberg’s Another Round, Sam Mendes’ 1917, Todd Haynes’ Dark Waters, and Jonas Trueba’s The August Virgin.

Komasa’s acclaimed drama, which tells the story of a young man pretending to be a priest after experiencing a spiritual transformation in a juvenile detention centre, had its world premiere in September 2019.

The same year, Corpus Christi was nominated for an Oscar in the Best International Feature Film category.

The movie also garnered 11 awards from the Polish Film Academy.
