Since 2005, selected museums have opened their doors for a night, free of charge, as part of European Museum Night. The event takes place simultaneously on a Saturday closest to May 18 in countries that have signed the Council of Europe’s cultural convention. The date this year is May 15.
In Warsaw, some 180 institutions will be taking part, 17 of them for the first time. Also, for the first time in the history of European Museum Night, Varsovians will be able not only to visit cultural institutions but also to participate in both online events and outdoor activities.
Danuta Isler spoke to Michał Puszkarski, head of the Education and Promotion Department at the Museum of Sports and Tourism in Warsaw, to find out more about the attractions it has in store for the weekend.
