Released by Warner Classics in January, the disc features excerpts from Book 2 of Bach’s Well-Tempered Clavier.

The recording has won rave reviews in leading music magazines.

International Piano wrote: “This is playing of unadorned purity, shorn of all extra-mural attractions in performances that often transcend even the most exalted names … He makes you long for more Bach, or indeed any other great composer."

It added: "A pianist who offers no concessions, who remains entirely himself, Anderszewski achieves something of Lipatti’s level of exaltation.”

According to the BBC Music Magazine, “Anderszewski’s interpretations and juxtapositions have a compelling inevitability; but the other reason for the recording’s success lies in his pianism."

"Anderszewski’s flexible, responsive touch and his often slowish tempos allow a subtle suggestiveness ... The whole set is beautiful from start to finish," the BBC Music Magazine also said.

Anderszewski's CD was Gramophone’s Editor’s Choice in February and the BBC Music Magazine’s Instrumental Choice in April.

The Gramophone Classical Music Awards are given in 11 recording categories.

Born in 1969, Anderszewski is one of Poland’s most famous pianists. He has recorded exclusively for Warner Classics since 2000.

His releases include Beethoven's Diabelli Variations, a Grammy-nominated CD of Bach's Partitas Nos. 1, 3, and 6, as well as works by Schumann and Polish composer Karol Szymanowski.
