James, who hails from the small Polish town of Ośno Lubuskie, on Wednesday faced 10 other contenders in Los Angeles fighting for the grand prize of USD 1 million in the finale of the popular American TV show.

The 14-year-old Pole sang a cover of Kate Bush's hit “Running Up That Hill”. The winner will be announced when the public voting closes on Thursday, Polish time.

Sara James already impressed the jury at the casting stage of the show. Thanks to Simon Cowell, who then pressed the so-called “golden button”, she jumped straight to the semifinals. In the semifinals, she delivered an impeccable rendition of Elton John’s “Rocket Man”.

The 17th season of “America's Got Talent” boasts a star-studded jury panel, with English celebrity Simon, fashion icon Heidi Klum, comedian Howie Mandel and actress Sofia Vergara, as well as actor Terry Crews as host.
