Daily links between the capitals will be made possible by the newly built Beijing Daxing International Airport, Milczarski noted. He expressed the hope that the number of flights would be even doubled to 14 a week as soon as slots in Beijing become available. This may be further expanded to as many as 21 per week when Poland's planned Central Transport Hub is built near Warsaw by 2028.
"The Chinese market is important to us. It is our ambition to become a gateway for the traffic from China to this part of Europe, that is, the area between the Baltic Sea, the Adriatic Sea and the Black Sea, which has a population of 180 million," Milczarski told Xinhua.
LOT is "the most active and dynamically growing airline in central Europe," Milczarski added.
This year, the airline is eyeing a record 10 million passengers, according to reports.
Since the beginning of 2016, the airline has launched scores of new flights, including long-haul destinations such as Los Angeles, Tokyo and Seoul.
