Trade surplus for Poland in January: stats office

Poland had a foreign trade surplus of around EUR 200 million in January, the country’s Central Statistical Office (GUS) reported on Thursday.

The country’s exports in the first month of this year totaled EUR 19.3 billion, while imports were worth EUR 19.1 billion, the government-run statistics agency said.

Poland’s largest export markets were Germany, France and the Czech Republic, while Germany, China and Russia were the country’s largest import markets, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Poland ended last year with a foreign trade surplus of EUR 1.8 billion, according to the Central Statistical Office.

The country’s exports totaled EUR 235.8 billion in 2019 as a whole, while imports were worth EUR 234 billion.
